Feast your weary winter eyes on this!

I decided that I really deserved to take my inner artist on a vacation and treat her really well.

So this year I am taking the plunge and heading off to New Hampshire early in June to attend the Squam Art Workshop!

I'll be in the company of a whole bunch of other mostly women who blog and create art in their humble homes like I do and also some phenomenal instructors.
Squam is located on a lovely lake and has paths, a dock and wonderful rustic buildings and cabins.
Oh, and lest I forget one of the most important pieces for me, delicious, beautiful food that I don't have to plan, buy, cook, or clean up after.

I will be learning to knit a baby sweater, all in one day.  Yup!  And then I will be creating a charming felt cottage.  And finally, I will be making a paper mobile.  I sneaked up to the window at a local shop and took this picture of their paper cutout/window treatment.  Isn't it pretty?  That's just what mine will look like when I finish...(Oh, you people have such a good sense of humor that you actually believe I could whip this up!  But really, thank you for your faith in me.  :-)

I'm a little skeert, but a whole lot excited.  I know I'm going to make some nice friends and come home completely jazzed.

Oh, and on Saturday night, they have an Art Fair and I will have a table there with aprons, yoga mat bags, and handbags to sell.  Considering that I don't have any stock to speak of just now, I have some major sewing to do in this next month.  My mother is making some for me in Florida and I'll be working hard here.

It's hard to describe the feeling of knowing that after all these years I am not only releasing my creative side, but actually supporting and nourishing it.
I'll keep posting as I finish the sewing projects so you can see what I am making!

Wa-Hooooooo!!
